I first heard about the idea of self-destructing DVDs years ago. I thought it was a bad idea that had disappeared. However, Staples has announced it will begin carrying Flexplay self-destructing DVDs rentals, which timebomb after 48 hours, so you don't have to return them.

      Who needs DVD's period anymore? Soon they too will be obsolete because movies can simply be downloaded over the internet. Self-destructing DVD is a pointless step back into past technologies.
