You probably remember the Megan Meier case, in which a teenage girl committed suicide after a MySpace romance went bad. The romance itself and the boy involved were in fact fictional, perpetrated as a vindictive prank by the mother of a former friend who lived down the street.

Outrageous. It is amazing this prankster is an adult. One might understand kid against kid on my space but an adult engaging in this kind of stupidity. She should be punished.

The maximum sentence allowed under current law isn't harsh enough for what she did.

Just like the mother of the deceased said, she should get life in prison, because that's what this family must endure for the rest of their lives. I cannot imagine a parent having to bury a child.

Hi, I'm a very attractive man or woman on MySpace. I think we should have an online relationship that ends in tragedy.

This is scary. Now it is a crime punishable by prison time to talk meanly? I feel sorry for the girl and her family but the idea that a crime was committed is absurd. Better watch out before posters on propeller are convicted of creating false personnas online. EVERYONE (ok, 99% of people) online is now apparently breaking the law...

This 'adult' manipulated a child for several months.

She did not 'talk meanly' to her, she played on her emotions to exact revenge for the sake of her own daughter.

She is a sick predator, preying on children and she should pay.

My heart is with the family, I don't think the internet will ever be 100% safe, unless they come up with a great software. I don't think adults should get involved in between two kids problems, such as this or that being said. I do think an adult should do something if their child is being threatened but they should not set-up a fake acct., and believe they did nothing wrong when they caused such a young lady to take her own life. I know by experience, the internet has caused problems for me, with my own family. I had one of my own family members tell me "I would do my family a favor if I'd just die or kill myself." Myself as an adult hurt my feelings, I can imagine how that child felt. I hope this woman gets some time for this.

Imagine an 'adult' engaging in this type of emotional buggery

I hope she gets whatever the law can throw at her, and I doubt she has one, but whatever her conscience can throw at her too.

I have nothing but contempt for this worthless busybody of a woman

I hope Karma kicks her ass if the law won't or can't

Funny thing about this incident, I once commented about this in my blog (http://fa...">http://fangarius.blogspot.com/)">(http://fa...<... where I brought up how this reminded me of the Wanda Holloway (aka Cheerleading Mom).

Primarily, folks, the bottom line here is this, first off, if the parents had to get involved, they should've sat down and DISCUSSED it like adults. Not instigate fraud as a means of finding out what was going on between the two girls. Mainly because though, Ms. Drew, 'presumed' it wasn't supposed to go this far, in reality, she knew exactly what her daughter and employee were doing on MySpace.

Yet, she did nothing on halting this farce, until it was too late. And the worst part of it was, she ended up not only ruining the Meyers' lives, but hers as well. The sad thing is, this won't be over, not by a long shot, and all because she made a poor decision for handling this problem, rather than let the girls work it out themselves.

Kinda makes one think, doesn't it?
