Gadgets & Tech – Ever wish you could get a view of possible landmarks when getting directions from a mapping site or program? I do. After all, I usually do better with "look for that Chevron station" hints. Well, Google's heard your plea, and has added Street View to directions in Google Maps.
I used the Street View option in the recent past. It was very useful. It was too cool.
I'm thinking, now how does that work?
I once typed in an address in downtown Chicago. Looked at it from Googles Street View, then went to that address and stood in the exact position, across the street, from where the google view, comes into play and I was surrounded by tall buildings, too.
If it relies on a GPS, then it would only give you a view of straight down from a satellite.
It must be receiving a feed from the CCTV's or security cameras located around that particular address. Other than that, I have no clue as to how that works.

that's cool. but, I do not like it when google will give anyone your address if someone puts telephone # in search field.
