Last week Microsoft posted Windows XP SP3 RC1 ... and then pulled it back. It was still available on some download sites, but not on Microsoft's site. Tuesday Microsoft indicated that it would be posting SP3 RC1 to its Download Center later that day, and hopefully this is the real thing.

I managed to get my hands on it last week. Unfortunately, it has no visible updates (i.e., no changes in the appearance of the OS) or, to the best of my ability to determine, no change in function either. So, don't rush to install it.

I still don't have Vista installed but I may give it a shot after this SP is released.

Only about 12 hours or so late, Microsoft has updated their site. Check the article for the NEW download link.
Bklyn11, you should re-download and make sure you got the "real deal."
