There are a lot of video editing softwares to choose from for Linux. According to an article there is still a long way to go before it can compete against other applications in different platforms.

This area of Linux is maturing. Also, people can use software such as CrossOver to run all their favourite commercial and proprietary software, even if it's distributed as win32 binaries/
