Let's see, only a handful of votes for support and over three hundred angry, hostile votes against the new format. You even had to close the story and voting for those who oppose. How republican of you! You will never win on this one! You kids obviously never went to school to learn marketing and how run a company based on consumer interest. You're just a bunch of college newbies having fun in some hotel room, smoking weed and dreaming about how you could integrate "My Space" into the format. Great for kids, but being that the largest portion of the marketing population is Boomers you just killed off a majority of your membership. Amateurs!

I have a similar comment in "skaped" that I didn't ask to be forced into this registration process. They could have reformatted the homepage and pointed us to the "what's new", voting etc. and let us choose. This is the kind of mistake people make once and usually early in their career. I haven't changed my homepage in so long I am trying to remember how to do it.

The Google home page looks pretty good.

It IS nice to have a format to say how we feel about it and goodbye and thanks!

Oldjedi, I am honored that the first comment you decided to post on the New Netscape was mine. Every journey begins with just one step. In a few days, you'll be roaming free in this wonderful world. However, if you can't handle more than 3 lines on a screen, you might want to try Google. And, I love Google... but there's a difference between a "Search Engine" and an ISP/Browser/Search Engine. There's also a difference between a thoughtful post and an ignorant one. Hey, that also begins with "I."

OldJedi: I am your father, the force is NOT with you. Yes I is for idiot. Good Job! I can see you really paid attention in kindergarten. Well I did too, you see. I can also stands for Imbecile. Oh and D is for Dumbass and hmm... I can also stand for Ignorant. Let's not forget about O. That can be for an Oldfart as yourself. Oh yes T. T can be for Tacky which your posting proves to be. Didn't your mother ever tell you Speak evil of no one and you will need never whisper. If you have nothing intelligent to add to this discussion you should just go ahead and keep your trap shut. I found your posting highly offensive. There was no need for the belittlement. Learn some discipline and then maybe you will become a TRUE Jedi.

Well, since you are encouraging all this competition shopping, I did check out Digg, which I had never been to and it seems much cleaner and easier to navigate. Thanks for the thought. I like my news delivered after everyone else has voted on it so am going to Yahoo and Yahoo's most viewed and emailed. They work for me.

Why does a supposedly worldclass company like Netscape/AOL have to copy? And when you do you are supposed to leapfrog the competition, not get hung up in a questionably thought out roll-out, irritating long time customers. What were they thinking?

                          I stands for Imitation.

                          Have a great weekend.

The new format leaves a lot to be desired. An option that allows a user to pick new or old would be a nice compromise. Oh well, this will probably not happen so it's off to Google or CNN.com.

                            Bad move..............

Apparently articles are being pulled and comments are being stripped from stories that have not been pulled. How odd. It seems this is NOT an open forum if it goes against what our beloved anchors "blogging to change the world" ambitions.

So our comments and dis-satisfaction is deliberately being erased.

AOL does have a web site that lists direct contacts at AOL since these are being supressed. it is at www dot

                                corp.aol.com / press / mediacontacts.shtml

There are phone numbers for AOL programming, media networks, as well as Netscape.

The contact for Netscape.com is Andrew Weinstein 703-265-0185

Since the powers that be here are trying to put a spin on the bad rap by DELETING COMMENTS, the only way you can be certain of having your concern heard is by contacting people at AOL directly.

Hey maxmeyes--not sure they are deleting or not--but I can't seem to find a couple of messages where I posted the REAL link to the old Netscape page. Well--it's almost the old link--its the new look of the Netscape ISP side of things. Netscape does not want to lose paying Netscape ISP folks so they still have what is almost their old page.

You can see it at http://www.isp.netscape.com

Lets see if this message sticks or not!

The old site was my top choice for my home page because of the content and layout. I chose that over numerous other sites.

MyNetscape or isp.netscape still don't come close to what the original had !!!!!

I saw the Channels box that was added, but alas it didn't link to but to more blogging !!!!!

Saw on a web tracker site that traffic to Netscape was down 18% and dropping. I Wonder Why.....

                                            I give up !!! Adios forever !!!!!

I now stand corrected...or at least what I wrote about deleted stories and posts was true at the time I wrote it. One story I was watching had 187 comments on Friday, but was down to 65 until today. Now it is over 350 and all the missing posts have returned. The story in which I commented also returned today, though you cannot add any more comments. As for the ability to show you proof, that's a bit difficult when I don't have access to the server logs to show the editing. (It's like proving you really did have that Barry Manilow CD you tell the police was stolen from your car, except they don't give you a receipt here.)
