June 29, 2006, 9:02 p.m.The "new" Netscape SUCKS! There was nothing wrong with Netscape. Why "fix" what ain't broke? I have been using Netscape for 10 years because it WAS the superior browser – now it is as INFERIOR as any other choice! What are we supposed to do; what is left for a decent, USABLE and PREFERED browser? Why should I have to participate in a eastern religion just to join in with a discussion (look up the meaning of an “avatar†(Source: www.dictionary.com))
av•a•tar
1. The incarnation of a Hindu deity, especially Vishnu, in human or animal form.
2. An embodiment, as of a quality or concept; an archetype: the very avatar of cunning.
3. A temporary manifestation or aspect of a continuing entity: occultism in its present avatar.
There is no way to adequately describe my utter contempt for this inferior, inadequate, detestable, unsatisfactory, substandard product which has been foisted upon us! If you are FINALLY getting the idea that I am unhappy, you are FINALLY paying attention!

June 29, 2006, 9:21 p.m.Can you please explain to us why you chagned to this format ? The old format, everything was right there to see. What are you thinking of ? I have all 7 of my computers using Netscape as my Home page. If this what your new design will be, I will be changing all 7. I am sure I will find something better. It will not be that difficult. just look what you at Netscape have done and see how many users you will be turning away. Once a major beverage company changed the recipe of their product that was sellling for decades and decades. A few geniouses had a "great" idea. When it finaly hit the fan and they realized how much of the market they lost, hey brought back the popular product back. GET THE HINT!

June 29, 2006, 9:29 p.m.I agree that this is Netscape's blunder that will cause me to look elsewhere. First they did away with Netscape Communicator with the release of Version 8 and now the mumbo jumbo page.
I have been a Netscape user for many years and do not like the format that all of a sudden is on my screen. You could at least give an option to see if we want to change. The all knowing and seeing Netscape has just got another black eye in my opinion.
Sorry folk I guess I will have to start using Internet Explorer and Outlook

June 29, 2006, 9:30 p.m.WOW!!! This new Netscape is another case of "we know what you like more then you do" - There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with Netscape, I have used it since I bought my very first computer. I really HATE this new format. I think it's time to start shopping for a new browser! ICK!!!

June 29, 2006, 9:39 p.m.I don't want other people voting on what I should read first. I want to see major national news stories and then if I want to know about entertainment or sports or whatever I can click a link. I liked having a choice. This new format is awful. What if the New York Times decided to have readers vote on where things should be placed in the paper. What a disaster. If this is how it will be from now on, I'm changing my homepages.

June 29, 2006, 9:39 p.m.You through out my short life I know that people resist change. And it always seems to be the people who are complaining everyday at work too.

June 29, 2006, 9:45 p.m.When I first saw the new beta page a few weeks ago I had every intention of finding a new home page. But after seeing all of it today, it has now become somewhat of a mission. I still love the browser but netscape.com is awful.

June 29, 2006, 10:19 p.m.Couldn't leave well enough alone. Just another genius sitting around with his finger up his nose with nothing to do and on Netscapes payroll. He, in all his wisdom figures he'll redesign the website. Go back to school and then get a real job. The new site bites it.

June 29, 2006, 10:19 p.m.After 12 years, I will be leaving NETSCAPE and going to my MSN . I want the old format. After reading some of the postings, I realized that the format might have been changing weeks ago. ? I ran into a problem several weeks ago and after days of trying to figure out the problem, I had to wipe my hard drive clean and start over and then reloaded the 7.2 and everything worked fine until NOW. NOW we have the new format which 99% of postings think it suxs and my download times have doubled. Good-bye.
